Ayariga cuts sod for major Dev't projects in Bawku municipality
A new phase of infrastructure development has been launched in the Bawku municipality, as MP and Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga led sod-cutting ceremonies for a series of projects aimed at boosting education, healthcare, roads, and local economic growth.
The projects, spread across Bawku and surrounding communities, include Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) interventions at Bawku Senior High School/Technical Institute and Bawku SHTS, as well as the construction of classroom blocks in Mognoori, Jentiga No. 1, Sakpari, and Tambaligo.
Road infrastructure projects also form a key part of the initiative, including the Bawku SHS–Police Station stretch, the Tinsongo bypass, and the Deega–Lalsaa road, all expected to improve connectivity and ease transportation challenges in the area.
A major highlight of the initiative is the planned 24-hour economy market, which is expected to create jobs, stimulate commercial activity, and strengthen the local economy.
In the health sector, plans for a referral hospital at Baribari/Zemasa are expected to significantly improve access to quality healthcare services for residents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ayariga expressed gratitude to traditional authorities, contractors, and community members for their support, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution of all projects.
He described the interventions as part of a broader effort to deliver development, opportunity, and improved living conditions for constituents.
