BE/R: 7 killed, several injured in Kintampo road crash
A road accident near Babatokuma in the Kintampo Municipality has claimed the lives of seven people, with several others injured.
According to Adom News’ Wiafe Akenten, the incident occurred in the early hours of Good Friday, April 3, 2026.
The crash involved a passenger bus travelling south and a truck carrying tomatoes heading in the opposite direction toward Burkina Faso. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing extensive damage.
Some passengers were trapped under seats and wreckage and had to be extricated by rescuers.
Emergency responders and bystanders assisted at the scene, and the injured were transported to health facilities in Kintampo, Wenchi, and Techiman.
Those in critical condition were later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities have commenced investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
