Lands Minister visits Minerals Development Fund, calls for greater impact in mining communities
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has paid an official visit to the Minerals Development Fund (MDF), reaffirming government’s commitment to strengthening institutions that support sustainable development in mining communities.
During the visit, the Minister engaged with management and staff of the Fund, urging them to prioritise performance, accountability, and the delivery of measurable results.
He emphasised the critical role of the MDF in ensuring that benefits from Ghana’s mineral resources translate into tangible improvements in the lives of people living in mining areas.
Officials at the Fund led by Dr Hannah Bissiw-Kotey, described the visit as timely and inspiring, noting that it has renewed a strong sense of purpose among staff to enhance their impact and deliver meaningful outcomes.
The MDF reiterated its commitment to promoting responsible mining practices while implementing development projects that improve livelihoods in mining communities across the country.
