NADMO clears road at Achimota Golf Club after heavy rains brought down tree
Officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) swiftly responded to the incident and began cutting the fallen tree into smaller pieces to clear the roadway and restore the smooth flow of traffic.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) also joined the operation as part of efforts to ensure public safety in the area.
Authorities indicated that, as a preventive measure, several aged trees within the vicinity have been identified for pruning to reduce the risk of similar incidents occurring during future rainfall.
The incident reportedly caused damage to a roadside signpost and an electricity transformer.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertook works to replace the damaged transformer and restore normal power infrastructure in the area.
No casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident.
