NPA Chief Executive engages Western Regional police commander on petroleum sector regulation

NPA boss in a meeting with Western Regional Police chief

The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Godwin Kudzo Tamakloe, has paid a courtesy call on the Western Regional Police Commander, Frank Abrokwah, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration in the regulation of Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector.

The meeting focused on enhancing compliance, improving operational efficiency and promoting ethical conduct among industry players.

Mr. Tamakloe was accompanied by Deputy Chief Executive of the Authority, Sheila Addo, as well as other officials of the Authority.

Also present at the meeting was Chairman of the Tanker Drivers Union, George Teye Nyaunu, together with executive members of the union.

During discussions, the NPA Chief Executive highlighted the importance of the Ghana Police Service as a strategic partner in protecting the integrity of the petroleum industry and ensuring that regulatory standards are strictly enforced nationwide.

According to him, stronger institutional collaboration between the NPA and the police service would help protect consumers, maintain public safety and boost confidence in the petroleum sector.

Mr. Tamakloe further stressed the Authority’s commitment to ensuring discipline and compliance within the downstream petroleum industry.

For his part, DCOP Frank Abrokwah reaffirmed the commitment of the Ghana Police Service to supporting the mandate of the NPA and maintaining law and order within the sector.

 

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the NPA to deepen stakeholder collaboration and strengthen regulatory oversight across Ghana’s petroleum industry.
