The Minister for Energy and Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has urged supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain patient as government works to improve livelihoods and expand economic opportunities across the country.

Addressing party supporters during the NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah’s thank-you tour in the Savannah Region on Thursday, May 14, Dr. Jinapor acknowledged rising expectations for jobs and economic support but cautioned against frustration that could lead to violence or internal divisions within the party.

He stressed that the administration is still in the early stages of its mandate and is actively rolling out interventions aimed at addressing key development challenges.

“We are barely two years in office. We know you need jobs, we know you need businesses. I will plead with you to be patient with the government,” he said.

Dr. Jinapor disclosed that government has already begun targeted support for farmers in the region, including the provision of agricultural inputs to boost productivity.

“This year, I have funded the purchase of 2,000 bags of fertiliser and 2,000 bags of weedicides to help farmers.

So please exercise patience for the party,” he added.

He further cautioned supporters against actions that could undermine the unity and electoral strength of the NDC, warning that internal conflicts could have long-term political consequences.

“If we are sharing while in office it is just a matter of time, everybody will get some but when we use violence and it lands the party in opposition, it will be our loss,” he noted.

The Energy Minister also assured residents that additional development projects, including improved water supply and road infrastructure, are being planned for implementation in the area as part of broader government interventions aimed at improving living conditions in the Savannah Region.
