TDC Issues 30-day ultimatum to clear items from Tema yard, warns of auction and sanctions
Tema Development Corporation has served notice to individuals and businesses to evacuate containers, machinery, and other belongings from its maintenance yard in Tema within 30 days or risk losing them through public auction.
In a public announcement dated May 5, 2026, the company directed all persons with property at its yard in Tema Community 1 to take immediate steps to retrieve their items within the stipulated timeframe.
The corporation cautioned that any belongings left behind after the deadline will be disposed of through an auction process without further communication.
In addition, TDC used the notice to call on lessees, property holders, and occupants within the Tema Acquisition Area to settle all outstanding ground rent. It noted that despite repeated reminders, a number of clients remain in default.
According to the company, defaulters have also been given a 30-day window to clear their arrears, after which enforcement actions will be rolled out to recover the debts.
The corporation further reiterated the proper procedures for acquiring land within its jurisdiction, urging the public to avoid unauthorized dealings with intermediaries or illegal occupation of land.
It explained that prospective applicants must follow due process, including submitting a formal application, undergoing verification, receiving an official allocation, making the required payments, and securing key documents such as a Right of Entry and a Site Plan before taking possession.
TDC warned that anyone who occupies land without completing these steps does so at their own risk and may face consequences.
