UCC lecturer and teaching assistant killed in road crash on Cape Coast–Accra highway
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has confirmed the death of a senior lecturer, Dr. Kwabena Koforobour Agyemang, and his teaching assistant, Peter Amoadu-Asmah, following a road accident.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the university said the two died in a motor accident at Third Ridge on the Cape Coast–Accra highway.
Dr. Agyemang was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning at UCC. The university described him as a respected academic known for his commitment to teaching, research, and service.
Mr. Amoadu-Asmah was undertaking his national service at the department after graduating the previous year. He had been the overall best graduating student of the department.

UCC management said it received the news with shock and sorrow, and extended condolences to the bereaved families. The university also appealed to the public and the media to be sensitive in their reportage.
