GHS: Central Regional Health Directorate probes maternal death at Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital
The Central Regional Health Directorate has confirmed a reported maternal death at the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital.
In a statement, the directorate expressed condolences to the bereaved family and described the incident as a matter of serious concern.
It said a dedicated investigative committee has been constituted to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The committee comprises representatives from the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Trauma and Specialist Hospital, the Regional Health Directorate, the Central Regional Coordinating Council and the Attorney General's Department.
According to the directorate, the committee has been tasked to conduct a thorough and objective review, with findings and recommendations to be made public after the investigation.
The Directorate assured the public of its commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare, particularly for mothers and children.
It also appealed for calm and urged the public to allow the investigative process to proceed without interference.
