NPP General Secretary visits Abronye at BNI
The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong Esq., has visited the Bono Regional Chairman of the party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Chairman Abronye, at the Bureau of National Investigations(BNI), assuring party supporters that the outspoken party executive remains “resolute, courageous, and in very high spirits.”
The visit took place on Monday and was joined by former Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. K.T. Hammond, NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed, Central Regional Chairman Dennis Percyval Quaicoe, and the party’s 2024 parliamentary candidate for Agona West, Lawyer Christopher Arthur.
In a statement issued after the visit, Mr. Kodua Frimpong said Chairman Abronye expressed deep appreciation to party faithful and supporters across the country for the solidarity and encouragement shown him during the period.
According to the NPP General Secretary, Abronye also extended special greetings to party members in the Bono Region and assured them of his determination to return stronger.
“He entreats all members of our party to remain united, steadfast, and hopeful at all times, stressing that the strength of the New Patriotic Party lies in our unity, resilience, and collective commitment to the ideals we cherish,” the statement said.
Mr. Kodua Frimpong further indicated that despite his current situation, the Bono Regional Chairman’s “spirit remains unbroken, and his conviction unwavering.”
Meanwhile, the NPP disclosed that a bail application has been filed at the High Court on behalf of Chairman Abronye.
The court is expected to hear the application on Tuesday, May 20, 2026.
