Work on Suame interchange to resume next week – Ashanti Regional Minister
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has announced that construction work on the Suame Interchange in the Suame Municipality will resume next week.
The project, initiated under the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had stalled due to a lack of funds.
According to the Minister, the government has cleared outstanding arrears owed to the construction firm, Rango, covering the period from 2024 to 2026, paving the way for work to restart.
Dr Amoakohene disclosed this while speaking to the media at the “Re-enactment of the Sargranti War” in Fomena as part of Ashantifest 2026. He expressed optimism about the progress of the project following the resolution of financial challenges.
He further noted that, in addition to the Suame Interchange, road works are ongoing on the Mankranso Road, Santasi Road, and the stretch from Agogo to Maame Krobo.
