Bono NPP Chairman Abronye reportedly arrested over defamation complaints
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye, popularly known as Chairman Abronye, has reportedly been arrested following complaints lodged at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service.
According to sources, the complaints were filed by former Minister Richard Anane and a circuit court judge, who accuse the NPP official of making alleged defamatory and insulting remarks against them.
While details of the specific allegations remain unclear, the arrest is believed to be linked to public comments attributed to Chairman Abronye.
Police are yet to release an official statement on the matter, as investigations are expected to continue.
