National service personnel demand immediate payment of allowances
The Concerned National Service Personnel Association of Ghana (CNSPAG) has called for the immediate payment of outstanding allowances owed to personnel across the country.
In a statement, the group expressed dissatisfaction over delays, describing the situation as unacceptable for graduates serving the nation.
CNSPAG said personnel have faced financial difficulties for months, affecting their ability to meet basic needs such as transportation, accommodation and food.
The association also indicated that some personnel have experienced health challenges, including stress-related conditions, due to the delay in payments.
It stated that patience among members has been exhausted and criticised what it described as a lack of urgency from authorities.
The group issued what it described as a final demand for the payment of all arrears within the coming days.
CNSPAG warned that failure to address the issue could lead to protest actions, including a planned mass demonstration.
The association called on the National Service Scheme, the Ministry of Finance Ghana, and other relevant authorities to take immediate action.
The statement was signed by Kwadwo Ye-Large, President of CNSPAG.
