Gov't declares April 3 and 6 as public holidays
The Ministry of the Interior has officially declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as statutory public holidays across the country.
In a press release issued on March 30, the Ministry stated that the dates mark the observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
The Ministry urged the general public to observe both days as public holidays throughout Ghana, in line with the country’s official holiday calendar.
The announcement was signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.
Good Friday and Easter Monday are key dates in the Christian calendar, commemorating the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The holidays are widely observed in Ghana with religious activities, family gatherings, and community events.
The declaration ensures that citizens across the country can fully participate in the observances.
