Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has called on the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to publicly apologise to him over the controversy surrounding the seizure of his luxury Lamborghini Urus.

Speaking during an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM, the musician expressed disappointment over how the situation was handled, stating that it has damaged his reputation both in Ghana and internationally.

According to Shatta Wale, the incident created the impression that he had purchased a stolen vehicle, a claim he strongly rejects.

He believes the issue has affected the brand he has built over the years and made him feel uncomfortable appearing in public.

“I feel the system has not protected me as a citizen of Ghana,” he said.

“How can people say I bought a stolen car?

This situation has destroyed my brand internationally.”

The dancehall star also called on EOCO’s Executive Director, Raymond Archer, and the institution to publicly clear his name and apologise for the damage caused to his image.

Shatta Wale revealed that he had initially hoped the matter would be handled privately to avoid unnecessary public attention.

He explained that if authorities had approached him directly to explain any issues with the vehicle, he would have cooperated without hesitation.

“If they had come to me and said there was a problem with the car and asked me to sign documents so they could send it back, I would have agreed,” he noted.

The musician also stated that although he is aware he may be required to appear in court, he and his legal team are still considering whether he will attend.

He added that he wanted to avoid making the matter public because his fans might gather at the venue, which could turn the situation into a large public spectacle.

Shatta Wale further emphasised that he remains a loyal citizen who does not believe in dishonesty, stressing that the issue has left him deeply saddened.

“I am boldly saying EOCO owes me an apology,” he concluded.
