Condom shortage reported at Kwahu Obomeng amid intensified HIV prevention efforts
A temporary shortage of condoms has been reported in Kwahu Obomeng during this year’s Kwahu Easter festivities, as health authorities ramp up measures to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among revellers.
The annual celebrations have drawn large crowds to the Kwahu area, leading to a sharp increase in demand for condoms and resulting in limited supplies in parts of Obomeng.
In response, medical officers have intensified public health education, urging individuals to adopt safe practices throughout the festivities.
Revellers are being encouraged to carry condoms and include them in personal first aid kits, particularly for those who may feel hesitant about purchasing them openly.
Health officials say the focus remains on reducing the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, especially during periods of heightened social activity.
Health teams deployed across the town are also distributing free condoms and offering voluntary HIV testing services to support prevention efforts.
Authorities have appealed to the public to act responsibly and take advantage of the available services to protect their health and ensure a safe and enjoyable Easter celebration.
