NPP members in Tarkwa-Nsuaem to protest over alleged internal election irregularities
Members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency plan to hold a peaceful demonstration on May 21 to protest alleged irregularities in the party's polling station elections.
In a statement signed by convener Ampoful Adu Narkaah, the group accused constituency executives of manipulating the registration, nomination, vetting, and polling processes to unfairly disqualify certain members.
The organisers also cited intimidation and bias, stating that regional leadership has failed to address their complaints.
Warning that these actions threaten party unity ahead of the 2028 general elections, the group is demanding the annulment of the election results, an independent investigation, and fresh elections supervised by the national elections committee.
The protest is scheduled to take place from UBAS Junction to the Tarkwa Market Circle.
