Wontumi unveils campaign team for NPP National Chairman bid

  Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially unveiled his campaign team ahead of the upcoming National Chairman contest of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The announcement follows what the Ashanti Regional Chairman described as extensive nationwide consultations with party stakeholders and grassroots supporters across the country.

Leading the campaign as Campaign Chairman is former Sunyani East Member of Parliament and former Majority Chief Whip, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, while former New Edubiase MP and former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, George Boahen Oduro, will serve as Campaign Manager.

The campaign team also includes several prominent figures within the party, among them former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources George Mireku Duker, Nhyiaeso MP and former Deputy Finance Minister Stephen Amoah, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Trobu MP Moses Anim, former Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan, and former Ablekuma North MP Akua Afriyie.

Also named on the team is former government spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.

According to a statement issued by the campaign and signed by spokesperson David Boakye, the composition of the team reflects unity, inclusiveness and growing confidence in Chairman Wontumi’s leadership within the party.

Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence in the ability of the team to prosecute what he described as a disciplined and issue-based campaign focused on party unity, grassroots mobilisation and organisational strengthening.

He also reiterated his commitment to repositioning the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
