DVLA wins double honours at APSCA 2025 for Digital Transformation Excellence
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) of Ghana has achieved a remarkable milestone at the Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA) 2025, clinching two major awards in recognition of its leadership in public sector digitisation.
The DVLA was honoured with:
Best Digital Transformation Initiatives in Public Service, and
Best Digital Transformation Initiatives in Public Service Delivery.
The awards ceremony, held in Cape Town, South Africa, celebrated outstanding public sector innovations across the continent.
In a statement following the announcement, the Chief Executive Officer of the DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, described the double win as a powerful validation of Ghana’s ongoing digital transformation agenda and the Authority’s commitment to simplifying and modernising public service delivery.
“This double victory is a powerful affirmation that our commitment to modernising and simplifying public services is setting a benchmark for excellence across the continent,” Mr. Kotey said.
“Our focus remains on delivering seamless, transparent, and user-centric digital solutions.”
The DVLA’s digitisation efforts — including online service applications, biometric verification, and electronic vehicle registration — have significantly enhanced efficiency, reduced processing times, and improved user experience for citizens.
Expressing gratitude to the organisers and jury of APSCA 2025, Mr. Kotey dedicated the achievement to the Ghanaian public, acknowledging their trust and cooperation as the driving force behind the Authority’s success.
“This achievement would not be possible without the Ghanaian public.
Your trust, cooperation, and enthusiastic adoption of our new systems are the true engine of our success.
These awards belong to you,” he added.
The DVLA pledged to continue leveraging technology to deliver world-class, transparent, and accessible services to all Ghanaians.
