Ghana launches one-day expedited passport service
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has introduced the country’s first-ever One-Day Expedited Passport Delivery Service, offering a complete 24-hour turnaround for the issuance of a standard, ICAO-compliant Ghanaian passport.
The new service is designed to meet urgent travel needs, such as last-minute business trips or family emergencies, with a streamlined application process and nationwide courier delivery included.
Applicants will also have access to a dedicated E-Tracking system to monitor the status of their passport in real time.
The application fee for the expedited service has been set at GHS 2,000.
The Ministry emphasised that the existing standard passport application system remains unchanged.
The standard passport fee of GHS 350 still applies, with delivery guaranteed within 15 working days via courier at no additional cost.
This innovation is positioned as a major enhancement to consular services, providing a reliable option for citizens with urgent travel requirements.
Applicants can access the expedited service through the Ministry’s official online portal: passport.mfa.gov.gh.
