Black Stars of Ghana

Germany recorded a 2-1 win over Ghana in an international friendly at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart on Monday.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo made two changes to his starting lineup, handing a start to Benjamin Asare in goal in place of Lawrence Ati-Zigi, while Kojo Oppong Peprah replaced Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in defence.

Peprah lined up in a three-man backline with Alexander Djiku and Jonas Adjetey, supported by wingbacks Caleb Yirenkyi and Derrick Kohn. Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo operated in midfield, with Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew and Prince Kwabena Adu leading the attack.

Germany dominated possession early, with a Florian Wirtz goal ruled out for offside. They took the lead in the 45th minute when Kai Havertz converted a penalty after a VAR review confirmed a handball by Adjetey.

Ghana responded in the second half, introducing Elisah Owusu for Sibo. Derrick Kohn set up Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who equalised after coming on for Adu.

Germany secured the winner in the 88th minute through Deniz Undav. Ghana later made further changes, including Derrick Luckassen, Kamal Deen Sulemana and Christopher Bonsu Baah.

Despite the loss, the game offered insight into Addo’s tactical approach and the integration of new players.
