Black Maidens sweep aside Liberia 8-0 on aggregate to set up final World Cup Qualifier against Senegal
Ghana’s under-17 national women's team, the Black Maidens, have advanced to the third and final round of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers after securing an 8-0 aggregate victory over Liberia.
Following a 6-0 win in the first leg in Accra, the team completed the tie with a 2-0 victory in Monrovia. Seidatu Wahab and Juliana Gyekyewaa both scored from free-kicks to seal the second-leg win.
The result marks a continuation of the team's qualification campaign, which opened with another 8-0 aggregate victory over Togo in the first round. Across four qualifying matches so far, the Black Maidens have scored 16 goals without conceding.
Ghana will now face Senegal in the final two-legged qualifying round. The first leg is scheduled to take place between July 3–5, with the return fixture set for July 10–12, 2026.
The winner of the aggregate tie will secure a qualification spot at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
