Ghana's home-based Black Stars depart for Mexico friendly ahead of 2026 World Cup
The home-based contingent of the Black Stars, along with members of the technical team, has departed Ghana for Mexico ahead of an international friendly scheduled for May 22, 2026.
This fixture is designed to allow the technical handlers to assess Ghana Premier League players at the international level and prepare the squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Ghana will face Panama, England, and Croatia in the group stage.
The traveling group includes Medeama midfielder Salim Adams, Nations FC defender Razak Simpson, Heart of Lions forward Ebenezer Abban, and Dreams FC defender Ebenezer Adade.
Hearts of Oak goalkeepers Benjamin Asare and Solomon Agbasi are also part of the squad, while invited foreign-based players are expected to join the team in Mexico later.
