After an intense night of the 2026 Honda Football Championship semi-finals at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, the University of Ghana (UG) and the University for Development Studies (UDS) have earned their place in the final of the 2026 Honda Football Championship.

The first semi-final match saw UG take on the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in a hard-fought contest that ended goalless after regulation time and extra time. With neither side able to find the breakthrough, the game went to penalties, where UG held their nerve and won 4-1 to advance to the final.

In the second semi-final, the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS) and UDS served up a tight and physical contest. The game looked to be heading towards extra time until UDS number 5, Zakavia Alhassan, broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute with a decisive goal that sent UDS straight to the final.

The stage is now set! UG and UDS will go head-to-head in the grand final of the 2026 Honda Football Championship on Saturday, 28th March 2026 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Fans will also be treated to a curtain raiser between Tamale Senior High School and Ghana Senior High School, Tamale, kicking off at 4:30pm, with the final scheduled for 6:30pm.
