From blogging to production: The rise of Alexander Fifi Abaka
In Ghana’s fast-evolving media and entertainment space, few creatives have transitioned as seamlessly across disciplines as Alexander Fifi Abaka. What began as a passion for blogging has evolved into a multifaceted career spanning media, television production, and creative entrepreneurship.
Alexander Fifi Abaka first made his mark as a co-founder of Ghanandwom, a platform dedicated to amplifying Ghanaian music and culture. Through consistent storytelling, artist coverage, and digital engagement, the platform became a notable voice within the country’s online music ecosystem, helping bridge the gap between artists and audiences.
But Abaka’s ambitions extended beyond digital publishing. He transitioned into television and content production, where he has steadily built an impressive portfolio. On Accra Stay By Plan Season 1, he served as Production Manager, playing a key role in coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth execution behind the scenes. His growth was evident when he stepped up as Producer for Accra Stay By Plan Season 2, taking on a more strategic and creative leadership role.
His production credits also include serving as Production Manager for both seasons of Kasa No Yɛ More, as well as Play By Ear Seasons 1 and 2. Across these projects, Abaka has demonstrated a strong ability to manage teams, execute complex productions, and deliver content that resonates with audiences.
Beyond production, he continues to shape the media landscape as a personality and business leader. He currently serves as Managing Director of Arts Business Multimedia, where he oversees creative direction, production strategy, and business growth initiatives.
Alexander Fifi Abaka’s journey reflects a broader shift within Ghana’s creative industry, where digital media, television, and entrepreneurship intersect. From blogging about the culture to actively producing it, he represents a new generation of creatives redefining what it means to build a career in media.
