V/R: Togbe Afede XIV hails 2025 Asogli Te Za grand durbar as a celebration of unity and heritage
The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State in the Volta Region, Togbe Afede XIV, has described the 2025 Asogli Te Za Grand Durbar as a truly remarkable celebration of the Ewe people’s rich heritage, identity, and unity.
Speaking at the climax of the annual festival in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, Togbe Afede noted that the event brought together chiefs, dignitaries, and citizens from across the country and beyond to honour Ewe traditions and culture.
He highlighted that the durbar served as a powerful display of the splendour of Ewe regalia, customs, and communal spirit, reaffirming the people’s shared commitment to peace, progress, and cultural pride.
“This year’s celebration reaffirmed our unity and the enduring values that bind us as one people,” Togbe Afede said, emphasising the need to preserve Ghana’s diverse cultural heritage as a foundation for national development.
The Asogli Te Za (Yam Festival) remains one of Ghana’s most vibrant traditional festivals, celebrated annually to express gratitude for a good harvest and to strengthen bonds among the Ewe people.
