Deputy Defence Minister welcomes Royal College of Defence Studies delegation to Ghana

The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has received a delegation from the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) of the United Kingdom at the Ministry of Defence in Accra.

The visit, led by Lt. Gen. (Rtd) George Norton, formed part of ongoing engagements aimed at strengthening international cooperation in strategic military leadership, defence education and global security collaboration.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Genfi commended the Royal College of Defence Studies for its longstanding contribution to shaping senior military leaders across the world, noting its role in enhancing strategic thinking and defence diplomacy.

He highlighted Ghana’s strong historical connection with the institution, pointing out that the Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, along with several senior Ghanaian military officers, are alumni of the College.

According to him, this network of trained officers continues to strengthen Ghana’s contribution to global peacekeeping efforts and international security cooperation.

The Deputy Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening partnerships with international defence institutions to enhance capacity building and promote shared security objectives.

The visiting delegation is expected to engage with senior officials of the Ghana Armed Forces and explore areas of mutual interest in defence training and strategic studies.
