Ghana has officially been selected to host the 2027 Partnership Meeting of the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), further strengthening the country’s position as a key player in the global cocoa industry.

The announcement was made by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, during an official launch ceremony organised by the WCF in collaboration with the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) in Accra.

The international gathering is scheduled to take place from March 16 to March 19, 2027, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra under the theme, “From Origin to Global Resilience.”

The meeting is expected to bring together global stakeholders within the cocoa value chain to discuss issues affecting the sector, including farmer welfare, climate-smart agriculture and sustainability.

Organisers say the event will also provide a platform to deepen collaboration and promote shared accountability among governments, industry players and development partners.

The hosting of the event is expected to boost Ghana’s visibility in the global cocoa sector while reinforcing efforts to promote sustainable cocoa production and resilience within the industry.
