Korle- Bu defends reliability of central laboratory test results

Management of the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital has refuted media reports casting doubt on the credibility of test results produced by its Central Laboratory.

In a statement issued on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the hospital described the reports as inaccurate and assured the public that the laboratory continues to meet high professional and international standards.

According to management, the Central Laboratory remains one of the leading and most modern medical laboratory facilities in Ghana and the West African sub-region.

The hospital stated that the facility is operated by experienced and qualified professionals and also serves as a key training centre for laboratory scientists from various health institutions nationwide.

Management further disclosed that the laboratory holds international accreditation under ISO 15189:2022, a certification that confirms its competence in delivering medical laboratory services.

The statement emphasized that the laboratory’s accreditation, operational standards, and track record ensure that all test results issued are accurate, dependable, and scientifically validated.

Korle- Bu also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening laboratory services to support quality healthcare delivery, diagnostics, and medical education.

The hospital assured patients and the public that they can continue to have confidence in the integrity and reliability of services provided by the Central Laboratory.
