Police arrest three more suspects over murder of Indian national in Ashanti Region
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the murder of an Indian national whose body was discovered in the boot of an abandoned vehicle in the Ashanti Region last month.
The victim, identified as Sameer Devendra Kumar, was found dead on April 26, 2026, with multiple stab wounds inside the boot of his car.
Police said the vehicle had been abandoned on the outskirts of Staben Ekufrom.
Speaking at a press briefing, Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah Akrofi, confirmed the latest arrests and disclosed that the number of suspects currently in police custody has now increased to four.
The police have not yet released details regarding the identities of the newly arrested suspects or the circumstances leading to their arrest.
Investigations into the murder are ongoing as police continue efforts to establish the motive behind the killing and the possible roles played by the suspects.
