The Savannah Regional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed all members to immediately halt unauthorised campaign activities for constituency, regional and national executive positions within the region.

In a statement issued on May 21, 2026, and signed by the Regional Secretary, Salisu Be-Awuribe Issifu, Esq, the Committee said it had observed a series of premature campaign activities being undertaken by some potential aspirants ahead of the officially declared timelines.

It explained that such activities were undermining the ongoing branch reorganisation exercise in the Savannah Region, which remains a key priority for strengthening the party’s structures at the grassroots level.

According to the Committee, the unauthorised campaigns are also distracting constituency executives from focusing on the reorganisation process, which is considered critical to the party’s internal consolidation efforts.

The statement, therefore, directed that all campaign activities in the region must cease with immediate effect.

It warned that any individual or group that violates the directive would face disciplinary action in line with the party’s rules and regulations.

The Regional Executive Committee stressed that the directive was necessary to ensure order, discipline and the successful completion of the ongoing reorganisation exercise.

It added that the notice serves as a formal warning to all party members across the Savannah Region.
