The Bishop Herman Old Boys’ Union (BHOBU) has announced a major infrastructure rehabilitation project for Bishop Herman College as part of preparations toward the school’s 75th Anniversary celebration in 2027.

In a press release issued by the Interim National Executive Committee (INEC) on May 17, 2026, the Union disclosed that a high-level delegation comprising the Municipal Chief Executive, Member of Parliament, project consultants, and the school’s headmaster officially handed over site documents to the contractor assigned to execute the project.

According to the statement, the rehabilitation exercise will involve the complete overhaul and expansion of four major facilities on campus. These include the Father Priems’ Hall Complex, the Science Block, the Agricultural Science Block, and the Dining Hall, which will be significantly expanded to accommodate the growing student population.

The contractor has been given a 14-day mobilisation period, after which construction work is expected to commence.

BHOBU noted that the development follows months of advocacy and engagement by the Union’s leadership with key stakeholders, including the Ministers of Education and Sports.

The release also acknowledged the contributions of the BHOBU Transformation Group and the Projects and Infrastructure Committee in advancing the initiative.

The rehabilitation project comes shortly after the commencement of internal road construction and paving works on campus, as well as the commissioning of a modern main gate complex funded by BHOBU North America at a cost of 100,000 dollars.

The Union expressed appreciation to government officials, consultants, school authorities, and Old Students who continue to support the transformation agenda of the institution.

According to the statement, the ongoing infrastructure improvements are aimed at positioning Bishop Herman College as a world-class educational institution while creating a better learning environment for future generations.
