President Mahama to deliver keynote address at World Health Assembly today
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to deliver the keynote address at the World Health Assembly in Geneva following an invitation from Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The President was welcomed on arrival at the Geneva Airport by Dr. Tedros and Mrs. Nane Annan, wife of the late former United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.
During the reception, Mrs. Annan took President Mahama on a tour of the Kofi Annan Lounge at the airport, a facility dedicated to honouring the memory and legacy of the renowned Ghanaian diplomat and global statesman.
The World Health Assembly, organised by the WHO, brings together global leaders, policymakers, and health experts to deliberate on major international health issues and strengthen cooperation on global healthcare systems.
President Mahama’s participation is expected to highlight Ghana’s contributions to global health discussions and reinforce the country’s role in international diplomacy and public health advocacy.
