Three arrested in Savannah Region over murder and assault at Gbiniyiri
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with a recent murder and assault at Gbiniyiri in the Savannah Region.
The suspects, identified as Yaw Bamuah, Yaa Bokaa, and Kuma Simpor, were apprehended on 14th March 2026 by the IGP’s Special Intelligence Team in collaboration with the Savannah Regional Police Command.
During police interrogation, Yaw Bamuah admitted to participating in the attack and named several accomplices, including Anuda Borour, Pobiye, Bitunor Sansa, and James Sanyuah, who are currently being pursued by law enforcement.
Police investigations revealed that the attack was carried out as retaliation for the killing of a relative, whom the suspects believed had been assaulted by robbers suspected to be Fulanis.
Following this disclosure, Bamuah led officers to his residence in Gbiniyiri, where police recovered a single-barrel shotgun with serial number BAT 2598-88 along with two live AAA cartridges hidden in a concealed spot on the property.
The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Authorities confirmed that they will be presented in court while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining suspects linked to the incident.
