Ho Central MP urges end to stigmatisation of ex-convicts and orphanage children
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, Richmond Edem Kpotosu, has called on Ghanaians to stop stigmatising and discriminating against ex-convicts and children in orphanage homes.
He said individuals should show love and acceptance, noting that anyone could find themselves in difficult circumstances.
Speaking to Class News after making donations to the Ho Central Prison and Madanfo Ghana orphanage home in Ho, he stressed the need to support the reintegration of ex-convicts into society.
According to him, rather than discrimination, there should be efforts to provide care, counselling, and psychosocial support to improve their mental and psychological well-being.
He also urged individuals and institutions to visit and support prisons and orphanage homes with food items and other essential supplies.
