NHIA, WHO deepens collaboration on free primary healthcare and UHC agenda
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, has held discussions with the World Health Organization’s Country Representative to Ghana, Dr Fiona Braka, on strengthening healthcare delivery in the country.
The meeting, held in Accra, focused on key areas of collaboration, including support for President John Dramani Mahama’s “Accra Reset” agenda and the ongoing rollout of the Free Primary Healthcare Initiative.
According to the NHIA, the engagement also explored ways the World Health Organization (WHO) can continue to support Ghana’s efforts to expand access to quality healthcare services.
Dr Bampoe expressed appreciation to Dr Braka and her team for their continued partnership and technical support, noting that their contribution remains critical as Ghana works towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
