President of the Ghana Football Association and CAF 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Okraku, has opened the CAF Medical Commission meeting in Lomé, emphasizing the importance of health and professionalism in African football.

Representing CAF President Patrice Motsepe, Okraku urged member associations to strengthen medical standards, improve collaboration, and invest in continuous capacity building.

He stressed that player welfare and modern medical practices must remain central to football development across the continent.

The meeting brought together medical experts and football administrators from Africa, including Ghana’s Prince Pambo, to discuss ways to improve healthcare systems in the sport.

Okraku’s visit to Lomé is part of a wider schedule of regional engagements. He recently attended a FIFA consultative meeting in Côte d’Ivoire focused on the next phase of the FIFA Forward Programme.

He also attended the CAF West-B Zone Team Managers Training Seminar, which focused on building capacity within the region.

Other participants at the meeting included Guy Kossi Akpovy and Philippe Tchere.
