Patients battling kidney disease in the Bono East Region have received a major lifeline following the delivery of the region’s first dialysis machines to Holy Family Hospital Techiman.

The donation was made through the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, which presented two brand-new dialysis machines to the hospital, marking a historic milestone for healthcare delivery in the region.

For many years, residents suffering from kidney disease were forced to travel long distances to access dialysis treatment, often enduring significant financial strain and emotional hardship. The arrival of these machines now means patients can receive life-saving treatment closer to home.

The equipment was generously donated by HealthTech Ghana Limited and officially presented by the Administrator of the Trust Fund, Obuobia Darko-Opoku.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to expand access to specialised healthcare services across underserved parts of the country.

Health officials say the development will significantly ease the burden on patients and families in the Bono East Region, while strengthening the capacity of the hospital to provide critical renal care.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund continues to call on partners and stakeholders to support its mission of improving.
