2025/2026 Regional Women’s Championship dates and venues confirmed
The Competitions Department has officially released the schedule and logistical details for the 2025/2026 Regional Women’s Championship, the primary qualifying tournament for promotion into the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
The championship is scheduled to run from May 14 to May 23, 2026, and will be held concurrently across two geographical zones to determine which clubs advance to the top tier of Ghanaian women's football.
Zonal Venues
To facilitate the competition, the department has designated two primary centers:
- Southern Zone: Matches will be hosted at the Tuba Astro Turf in Accra.
- Northern Zone: Fixtures will take place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.
Path to the Premier League
The tournament will feature top-performing clubs from the various regional leagues across the country. These teams will compete in a round-robin or knockout format (as determined by the final draw) for a limited number of promotional slots.
The Regional Women’s Championship remains a critical fixture in the domestic football calendar, serving as the bridge for grassroots and regional clubs to enter the professional ranks of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
