Engineers & Planners pays first US$2m toward Black Stars’ World Cup preparations
Engineers & Planners Limited, headline sponsor of the Ghana national football team, has made the first installment of its US$5 million pledge to support the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.
The Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, disclosed at a brief presentation ceremony on Thursday, April 30, 2026, that the company has transferred US$2 million into a dedicated fund for the national team.
He described the payment as a symbolic but significant contribution toward strengthening preparations for the global tournament.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Dzata Group Holdings, Ibrahim Mahama, reaffirmed his commitment—and that of the broader business community—to supporting national development initiatives, particularly in sports.
“This is just the beginning of that support to the country, and as time goes on, we will ensure that we redeem the remaining balance that we have promised,” he stated.
He said the contribution forms part of the company's efforts to mobilise private sector support to enhance the Black Stars’ readiness for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
